Traits are aspects of your NPCs that can modify their behavior, which may provide different effects depending on which job they are assigned. Any traits on your Ruler are especially important to consider, as they can effect your entire castle.

Bookworm[edit]

Bookworm subjects get happier at the Bookcase.

Bookworm rulers make subjects more efficient at the Bookcase.

Bossy[edit]

Bossy subjects are... Bosses coworkers around, making them efficient but miserable.

Bossy rulers are... Makes everyone more productive, at the expense of happiness.

Cheerful[edit]

Cheerful subjects get happier in general.

Also described as "Enduring".

Emotional[edit]

Emotional subjects are... Feels everything strongly.

Emotional rulers are... Rulings have a stronger emotional impact.

Envious subjects are... Hates it when coworkers are more productive than them.

Envious rulers are... Increases material gains in Rulings. No subject can be happier than the ruler.

Follower[edit]

Follower subjects' happiness does not impact their group's happiness.


Follower rulers may have decreased ruling options, particularly if the options negatively impact happiness unless there's no other choice.

Gourmet subjects' health gains at the Buffet are increased.

Haunted subjects are... Often chased around by a ghost, who will sometimes do their work for them.

Haunted rulers are... Increases hauntings in the castle.

Heartless[edit]

Heartless subjects are... Miserable to work with. Skilled with Frost.

Heartless rulers are... Prohibits subjects from being happy. All subjects are skilled with Frost.

Influential[edit]

Influential subjects' coworkers happiness will slowly match this one's. Their Summoned creatures are more powerful.

Requesters will strive to match the Influential ruler's mood once a ruling is made.

Inspiring[edit]

Inspiring subjects may motivate coworkers into completing their work faster.

Rulings made by Inspiring rulers that make subjects happier may motivate subjects into completing their work faster.

Intense[edit]

Intense subjects are... Fueled by anger. Skilled with Shock.

Intense rulers are... Rulings bring less joy. All subjects are skilled with Shock.

Jealous[edit]

Reckless rulers are... Rulings are more impactful, for better or for worse.

Stunning[edit]

Stunning subjects are... Distracts coworkers. Skilled with Summoning spells.

Stunning rulers are... Distract subjects, reducing productivity, but rulings bring more joy.

Theatrical[edit]

Also described as "Melodramatic".

Theatrical subjects are... Prone to overwrought retellings of lengthy stories from history.

Theatrical rulers are... Some rulings may cause more drama than expected.

Treacherous[edit]

Also described as "Devious".

Treacherous subjects are... Prone to assassination. Worryingly skilled with Daggers.

Treacherous rulers are... Prohibits subjects from being happy. Harder to assassinate.

Tribal[edit]

Tribal subjects are... Works and fights better next to family members.

Tribal rulers are... Encourages familial cooperation.
